Transforming natural stone with the aesthetics of lichen. Lichens are often seen as something ugly on buildings, but if looking closely, their real beauty might be seen. The sculptural ruins features structures inspired by the intricate forms of lichen showing their fascinating structures.
Lichens as bioindicators – appear only if the air is clean. Their growth can show when the environment is improving. So the beauty will just bloom when the air is good enough! Over time, these structures might become habitats for lichens to grow on naturally, making a true integration of architecture and nature – shifting the aesthetic view from ugly to beauty.
The ruins is a sculptural installation within a sacral context and will amplify the dialogue between architecture, nature, and environmental consciousness—creating a stimulating space where beauty, sustainability and innovation converge.
